Sobre el proyecto

Client: IVC Contratistas Lima
End User: Sedapal
Year: 2018

Automation project of 51 Remote Stations, consisting of 22 Wells, 24 Reservoirs, 01 Inlet Chambers and 04 Pumping Chambers for the drinking water and sewerage system of Lima Norte II – Lot 1. Likewise, the integration of 18 Remote Stations to the Infoplus SCADA System was performed.

The scope of Procetradi is as follows: Supply of electrical panels (TAC and TR), engineering development, installation, configuration, programming and testing of the equipment for the optimal development of the automation of the entire project. In addition, the integration to the Infoplus SCADA located at the ATARJEA plant.

This project benefits almost 3 million people in the districts of Comas, Los Olivos, Carabayllo, San Martin de Porres and Callao.

The automation system for each remote station is designed as follows:
-FIELD INSTRUMENTATION: It is constituted by the instruments that collect information of the physical variables. Typical instrumentation in the stations are: flow meters, level meters, pressure transducers, electric actuators for valves, network analyzers, solid state starters, variable speed drives and others.
-AUTOMATION TABLES: Made up of the PLCs and HMIs of the remote stations, which are mounted on the TAC and exchange information for automatic control.
-CONTROL CENTER: Formed by the data acquisition, monitoring and control system (SCADA), which receives information from the field equipment, as well as from the different processes in which it is involved and organizes it in different ways for the end user to make decisions, through graphs, trends and reports.

What benefits did the client obtain from this project?

The main benefit is the automation of 51 remote stations of SEDAPAL, which corresponds to the scheme of Lima Norte II, this to meet the demand for drinking water in the districts of Los Olivos, San Martin de Porres, Comas and Carabayllo.

The local automation of each remote station allows greater reliability, performance and productivity of each drinking water system. This guarantees that the processes are carried out autonomously, reducing costs and production stoppages caused by manual operations.

The implementation of a SCADA system allows SEDAPAL’s user area to supervise and operate each remote station from the control center located in ATARJEA and BREÑA, from which they collect and process information for intelligent decision making and reduce downtime in the water processes.
